October is the Month of the Rosary - the Rosary is a series of prayers said to remember the life of Jesus, but we also think about Mary and how she experienced the life of her Son.
People often say no parent should have to watch their child die. But Mary did. She had to watch as her son, her boy was tortured, crucified and executed [killed]. Then she held His broken body in her arms. It reminds me of how a lot of mothers must feel living in London, when the police comes to their door to tell them because of knife crime, gun crime or gang violence, that their child isn't coming home. I think that there is a lot to be learnt from Mary. Do you think there are other examples in Mary's life where she shows us what it means to obey God?Some Catholics like to use rosary beads to pray the Rosary, some wear it as a fashion item, when it isn't. It's a prayer tool, something to use in prayer, like the Bible and we don't wear the Bible?!
What are your thoughts about all things to do with the Rosary?

I don't think wearing around is a bad thing but we have to respect it....and use it for prayer and not as an fashion item
ReplyDeleteAnother example of Mary's obedience towards God is when Angel Gabriel tells Mary that she would bear a son. Mary said yes, even though she knew what she was putting herself in for. What would your parents think if you said agreed into doing something like that? And would you say yes if this happened to you?
ReplyDeleteWe all have a set of Rosary beads. but when was the last time we actually said the Rosary? Like Miss Kerridge said the Rosary is starting to become a fashion item...
I think the Rosary is the most easiest prayer to say. It gives us time to focus on God. Every bead represents a story about Jesus, and whenever I say it, I feel like I've read a whole bible!! The Rosary is like a gift from Mary. When you go to churches, The statue of Mary is always holding a Rosary. I think this just shows how important the rosary really is. The best bit about the Rosary is that everyone can do it and all we need to do is take time from our busy lives. And if everyone tries to do this, maybe we will see the world in a new and better way!...
I think that the rosary beads are a very valuable thing which we must use in our everyday lives. It shouldnt be used as a fashion item because the rosary means alot and each bead has its own significant value and it is a sign of what Mary had to go through in her life. She had to go through hard and sad things in life such as bearing a son at the age of 13, watching her own son get crucified on the cross, holding her dead son and etc. I think one of the most unbelievable event for Mary was when her son resurrected. Mary rushed immediately to tell Jesus' disciples about the good news that Jesus has resurrected from the dead but they didn't believe her which meant that they didnt believe in Jesus either. I think that we should try and say the rosary everyday if we can and when we do we must really reflect on what Mary went through as well as Jesus.
ReplyDeleteI think that the rosary s important because it is a rayer and prayer helps us to get closer to God.Mary said that if everyone says the rosary everyday ,then there would be world peace.
ReplyDeletewhen angel gabriel appeared to mary and told mary that she wld have a son ,jesus ,mary said yes and when ths happened she was only thirteen which is amazing because thats the same age as us and people would be talking about her , even though she knew that people would tak about her ,she still says yes which shws us that brave and that she beleived in God.i think that it is ok to wear the rosary around your neck but i still think that you shuld say the rsary ,t doesnt count if you have a rosary and you never say it ,it only matters that you actually say the rosary.
There are many examples in Mary's life where she shows us what it means to obey God e.g. when the angel told her at the age of 13 that she will have a baby. Mary with no hesitation ahd agreed to what she had said this shows us how Mary was able to think quick and agree to what ever God.She knew that God will always do the right thing so she went along with what God said.
ReplyDeleteNot only that but I think the definition of the word BRAVE is Mary I am saying this because Mary was actually able to have Jesus whilst she was young herself and she was able to not consider to what others say around her because she knew that she was doing the right thing.
Any issues of today that a good Catholic might want to think about when saying the Rosary?
I think there are many issues e.g. they could think about peace for the world, they can pray for their family , they can pray for those who have lost their lives in the tsunami which recently happened, they can pray for those who have died in serious sicknesses etc.
Finally the Rosary beads are a very important prayer that we do in our life you might think "oh no!! why is it so long" well infact if you actually do it often do it it just gives you time with God and you and so it won't seem very long. When I say it gives me something refreshing and I always speak from my heart to extend the relationship with God and me.
So start using Mary as an example and do the Rosary every night or atleast when you have time so you could have a good spiritual time with God
I Think That we shouldnt wear roseary beads as an item of fashion and that we should respect what God has done for us by using the roseary to pray to him and we should use it to take the time to appreciate mary and what she did for us
ReplyDeletei think some people might wear the rosary to represent that they are Catholics or for protection that's why they wear it but on the other hand some people just use it for fashion and the rosary is much more valuable than that . you use the rosary to pray .

yes when the angel first spoke to Mary about her having a child . Mary knew what she was getting her self into and she agreed to it meaning she obey God straight away .
Mary so saw an Angel his name was gabriel and told her that she was going to have to have Gods baby she had to bear her self for God and so that she could have Jesus Christ and to whatch him grow up this happened because Mary was clean.
ReplyDeleteI think that having the Rosary is showing respect to God and Mother Mary. Also by praying everyday with it shows that we care. People say that if we pray the rosary all the bad turn to good. In addition, we can wear the Rosary underneath our jackets so people will not think that it is a fashion item.
ReplyDeleteThe Rosary is an objecty that christans use to help them pray or for protection, some just in a way to keep God close. It also a way to remember how Mary obeyed God and agrred to give birth to Jesus and how she watched her son be nailed onto the cross.

The Rosary is a prayer, and when you have a Rosary you use it to pray.
Another time Mary obeyed God was when she agred to give birth to a baby at the age of thirteen just for God.
