So, they say we're all leaders? Sometimes that doesn't seem quite right? How can you be a leader when you get told what to do...? THINK. REFLECT. RESPOND.
So we can lead others by example? Even if we are told what to do, we can still be leaders based on how we follow instructions, we can inspire others through our actions. It all comes back to Serviam. Just as we serve God, we serve others and we inspire them ... so every member of St Angela's is a leader.
So what makes a good leader? Is it having the loudest voice? Being the bossiest person? What...? Well the best example I can think of as a leader is Jesus. But why?
That is your mission, year 7. Find me a story about Jesus, where He's being a good leader and tell me why. Can you include a picture?

What makes a good leader? I think a good leader must be a good listener. So it doesn't matter about having the loudest voice- it is about listening to each other. Communication. If you don't listen to each other then you won't get anywhere. You'll just be shouting over each other and arguing.

I think that to be a good leader you must set a good example to others and be a good role model. Being a leader isn't always about being bossy or having the loudest voice, but being able to be helpful to others.

I think to be a good leader you must do the following:

Inpirational- Once a vision is established, great leaders can inspire every one around them to get involved.
Strategic- Good strategic leaders are clear and directly face the strengths and weeknesses of their own organizations, as well as their external opportunities and threats.
Tactical- Good leaders are extraordainarily committed to results.
Focused- Good leaders achieve what they set out to do before launching new initiatives.
Persuasive- Good leaders can bring others to their point of view using logic, reason, emotion and the force of their personalities.
Likeable- Good leaders are people-centric. They may be scienctists, engineers or technical experts by background, but they recognize interpersonal skills are important.
Decisive- Good leaders can make decisions quickly, often with incomplete data.
Ethical- Good leaders are direct and straighforward. they set clear performance expectations hold people accountable.
Open to feedback- Good leaders are open and dedicated to lifelong learning. They seek feedback about their performance through direct conversations and objective tools such as reviews.

To be a good leader you have to prepare yourself first before you can take on the title. You have to be able to be good listener and good adviser. You have see all views and perspectives on the matter.

We are all good leaders. Some are bad and some are good, meaning bad leaders are people who influence others to do bad duties which involve sin and crime.
ReplyDeleteEveryone is a leader in there own way. Although we are given tasks to do, it still makes us a leader by following those specific instuctions as it inspires people to follow your good ways. By doing this it shows serviam. Service to God and others is part of being a good leader.
Every leader has their own goal. If you are not sure about what you are doing that is not good leadership as you have no aim. In St.Angelas we always have an aim to be achieved at the end of every lesson. This shows each of us can be a leader.
We were told to follow Jesus, becuase he was the best leader as he teached us everything and set an example for us to follow. This links to our leader Jesus sacrificing his life for US. Therefore in the footsteps of Jesus a good leader will also sacrifice.
To be a good leader it is not about being bossy etc,, its about learning to respect yourself and control yourself. Sometimes people get carried away with being leaders which makes them become bigheaded, they need to face challenges that come there way and never give up and also listen to people as they can give you advice.
ReplyDeleteto me i think there is no such word as leader but the word inseami which means together as we play together eat together and live together and the word serviam means we serve each other as your mum or dad would serve you.
